Same as when I used the CPU (3.5 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7). I ran this with the graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4 GB) and it took 4 minutes. I'll get to test out my photos on a MacBook pro in 2 weeks and see things for myself. Same thing happened to me was taking about 3 minutes a pic when I switched it over to the built in graphics card it lowered it to 43 seconds still not as fast but definitely a lot better. In the preference tab you can change it so it uses the built in graphics card to speed up the process. It's a good thing (for me) that the wait times for the new MacBook Pros are so long right now otherwise my wallet would be a lot lighterĭoes your iMac have a dedicated graphics card? If it's working just from the cpu it'll take that long. Sony A7RIII photos are taking 4 minutes to process with DeepPrime on my 2013 iMac with 24GBs of RAM. Quick question were you using deepprime when editing the photos? On my M1Pro MacBook Pro with 32GB's of Ram it takes over 20 seconds and on my previous laptop (the most tricked out 16" Intel available) it took over a minute. It's not DXO nor the base model Studio (I have the MAX with the faster of the two MAX available processors and 64GB's of RAM but using DeNoise AI and using a slightly customized low light setting (added sharpness and some 'original detail" retrieval) it takes about 8 seconds to process.

So the Neural cores make it faster? Same with Video Enhance AI? I wonder how much faster DXO DeepPrime would take on a MacStudio Ultra. The more of those cores your computer has, the faster DXO will process. Without those, you're only getting 1/2-1/4 or even less of DXO's potential speed, but anything at all is better than running on pure CPU (generally 5-10x slower!). They're the AI component of processing, and responsible for the performance boost you get. What you're looking for are Neural (Apple) and Tensor (NVIDIA) cores. Processor performance has little to do with improved processing time in DXO DeepPRIME.

Which mode are you using? I'm mostly interested in deep prime. I have a 16" MBP Max with 64GB: PR ver 2 takes 17 seconds (every time) on A1 RAW files using the Lightroom plugin. I have a MacBook Air with M1 chip and 16GB RAM. Seriously these M1 chips are really fast.
